Chester Jenkins


Studied at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene Texas.  My senior recital included the premier of Dr. Andy Patterson’s “Sonata for Tuba and Piano”.

Positions held include:

·         Principal Bass, Abilene Philharmonic (Two Years)

·         Tuba, Abilene Philharmonic (One year)

·         Principal Bass, San Angelo Philharmonic (Two Years)

·         Bassist, The Mile Stones

After 1976, I stopped playing any instruments and started a business career.  In 2006, I had an opportunity to play in a group at my church, First United Methodist Church in Rowlett.   After thirty years, I was back into the world of music and have enjoyed every minute of this revival.

I current play or have played in the following:

·         The Tarnished Brass, a Tuba Quartet

·         Richardson Community Band

·         Rockwall Community Band, on the Board

·         Rockwall Symphony

·         Psalm 150, a Church Instrumental group

·         Early Brass, a Brass Choir

And have played in:

·         Trombonium Sinfonium, both tuba and bass

·         Lakeshore Symphonic Winds
